Drywall 101

Drywall Material Estimating Calculator

The Drywall 101 material estimating calculator will help you determine the total number of drywall sheets needed for your project. After entering the size of your project, either room by room or on a wall by wall basis or a combo of the two, our calculator will lay out sheets on each wall stagering butts and using scrap from one wall on another wall when possible. When laying out material we assume that studs are framed 16 inch on center and lay the sheets down so they are hung perpendicular to vertically framed studs.

Choose an option below to get started

Enter Room Dimensions

You can add rooms to this project by entering simply the height, length and width of the room you wish to estimate. This feature creates a room with four equally sized walls and an optional ceiling. This works best for square rooms.

Enter Dimensions Wall by Wall

You can enter project information on a wall by wall basis. This form gives you the option of entering one wall at a time with only a required height and length. Use this option if your rooms are not square or if you have miscelaneous walls to estimate.
